QuesTec to release “PocketProView” for 2002 Baseball Season

Company to market subscription based wireless applications

Deer Park, New York, Thursday, October 11, 2001 - QuesTec, Inc. (OTC BB: QSTI), a digital media content provider of real-time measurement, virtual replays and interactive content for entertainment and mainstream professional sports announced today the expansion of its patented, proprietary motion measurement technology into the area of wireless data streaming and rich media content management.  The PocketProView™ system will provide sports fans with QuesTec’s unique data content.

PocketProView™ will allow individual fans to view game enhancements on a consumer-based, hand held device. PocketProView™ for baseball will display information from QuesTec’s PitchTrax and HitTrax products. PitchTrax precisely measures the speed, trajectory, movement and ultimate plate-location of every pitch thrown during a game. HitTrax displays and quantifies the exact location above the plate where the ball and bat made contact and the exact speed of the ball off the bat.  HitTrax will also calculate and describe the type of hit and direction.

"This is clearly the next generation of the fan experience", said Ed Plumacher, QuesTec’s founder. "Applications that customize and enhance their viewing experience are what today’s sports fans demand.  QuesTec’s ability to deliver rich media content as a complement to live sporting events is proven.  Subscription based wireless delivery systems for baseball and other sports are a natural extension of our core technology.”

This new application will add strength to QuesTec’s position as the worldwide leader in providing real-time content, three-dimensional digital replays and data streams for use in TV sports broadcasting, team information, webcasting, interactive TV, and video games. As with all of QuesTec’s exciting products, PocketProView™ will provide a unique and unparalleled perspective of the game and can generate impressive revenue dollars through a subscription based business model and sponsorship/advertising sales. QuesTec will partner with individual baseball teams and rights holders to provide fans of the game with the PocketProView™ information system.

“Each year, emerging technologies enable us to deliver our unique information in exciting new ways. Three years ago we debuted our content in an Interactive TV environment. The next year we delivered our content via the Internet to millions of web visitors on CBS Sportsline.com’s and MLB.com’s coverage of Major League Baseball’s All Star game and World Series. This year our digital pitch data is being used in FOX Sports.com’s “HIT THE PRO’S” interactive game.  Now, powerful new hand held devices and wireless technologies will enable us to deliver our unique information instantly and attractively to the individual fan of the game,” stated Christopher Malone, QuesTec’s New Media Manager.
